Overview

The ISA/IEC 62443 Lead Implementer course equips professionals with the advanced knowledge and practical skills required to design, implement, manage, and continually improve Industrial Automation and Control Systems (IACS) cybersecurity programs based on the ISA/IEC 62443 series of standards. The course provides a comprehensive framework for protecting industrial control systems from increasingly sophisticated cyber threats while ensuring the safety, reliability, availability, and resilience of critical industrial operations.

Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the ISA/IEC 62443 standards and learn how to establish an effective IACS cybersecurity program that addresses governance, risk management, asset identification, secure system architecture, network segmentation, access control, incident response, vulnerability management, and continuous monitoring. The training emphasizes a risk-based approach to securing operational technology (OT) environments, enabling organizations to protect industrial assets while maintaining operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.

Through practical workshops, real-world case studies, implementation exercises, and industrial cybersecurity scenarios, participants will develop the competence to assess cybersecurity risks within industrial environments, design and implement appropriate security controls, establish cybersecurity policies and procedures, and lead multidisciplinary teams responsible for protecting critical infrastructure. The course also demonstrates how ISA/IEC 62443 complements other internationally recognized cybersecurity standards, including ISO/IEC 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), and NIST SP 800-82, helping organizations establish a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy across both IT and OT environments.
